[ARCHIVED] Welcome to Livingston Event for New Residents

Blue "Welcome" banner with green "to Livingston!" underneath and confetti

The Township will hold a “Welcome to Livingston” event on Monday, September 16, for those who have moved into the community during the past year. The event will be held rain or shine at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, lower level, from 5:30 to 7 pm.

This annual event is designed to give new residents the opportunity to meet other newcomers and their families while learning more about Livingston. Free refreshments will be provided by local supermarkets and restaurants.

While there, new residents may sign up for and receive a Livingston Library card, have an official “Child ID” card created, and meet the Mayor and Town Council members along with various school officials and representatives of community organizations who can answer questions and provide information. The event will feature various free giveaways.

The Welcome to Livingston booklet — which offers an A-Z summary of locations, services phone numbers and more — and the Livingston Town Planner calendar — which features information on weekly recycling and special recycling events — will both be distributed to attendees.

The Township encourages all residents and family members to make sure they receive critical information when it matters most by signing up for Livingston’s Swift911 Emergency Notification System.

Livingston also provides information and updates through social media: follow us on Facebook at Livingston Township, NJ and Twitter @Livingston_NJ to keep up on the latest news, events, and information.
