Storm Cleanup: Debris from Ida

2021 Special trash pickups scheduled for debris from Tropical Storm Ida

Special Pickup for Storm-Damaged Debris ONLY.

This pickup is limited to miscellaneous materials (rugs, furniture, misc. items) damaged by Tropical Storm Ida that would otherwise be eligible for normal bulk pickup.

Storm Debris Pickup Schedule

The Township has arranged to have RTS, our regular garbage collection vendor, make a special collection of Tropical Storm Ida storm-damaged debris.

This pickup will occur on September 16, 17 and 18, and will be collected on the same schedule as regular garbage pickup:

If these are your regular garbage pickup days:Your Storm Debris will be picked up on:
Monday & Thursday Thursday, September 16
Tuesday & FridayFriday, September 17
Wednesday & SaturdaySaturday, September 18

This is not a "Spring Cleaning" event

RTS and the Township reserve the right to refuse collection of items that are clearly not storm-damaged debris as a result of Tropical Storm Ida.

NOT Accepted:

The following items can not be put out for storm-related pickup:

Electronics: visit livingstonnj.org/ElectronicsEvents

Large Metal Appliances: visit livingstonnj.org/MetalRequest

Hazardous or other materials not eligible for regular pickup: visit livingstonnj.org/SpecialDisposal

FEMA Disaster Relief Requirements

The Township will be seeking FEMA Disaster Relief reimbursement for expenses relating to storm-related damage debris collection. However, FEMA disaster reimbursements for debris removal are strictly limited to storm-related damage and debris. Failure to follow these instructions by including non-storm-related debris will jeopardize the Township's ability to obtain FEMA reimbursement. If we are denied reimbursement, the cost will have to be passed on to the taxpayers.

It is critical that residents not put out any regular bulk or household trash items that would normally be picked up on the regular bulk end-of-month bulk pickup day or regularly scheduled garbage pickup day.
