Featured in this performance are:
- Modest Mussorgsky’s sinister “Night on Bald Mountain” (made popular by the 1940 Disney film “Fantasia”)
- Russian-Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian’s sweepingly beautiful,yet eerie “Masquerade Suite”
- Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No.1 in C minor,” a work 20 years in the making, described by reviewers as “a towering masterpiece,”… “noble, tender, heroic,”… an ultimate affirmation of “our world as a beautiful place.”
