LACD Event: Neurodiversity in our Community: Valuing Differences
Thursday, October 6, 2022
Special Event
The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) presents a speaking event with Dr. Lori Volpe - "Neurodiversity in our Community: Valuing Differences."
NeuroDiverse is a term that describes the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits.
Research shows that on average a NeuroAtypical child spends about 30-40 hours a week in therapy to close the learning gap across development domains with that of neurotypical peers.
Bring your NeuroTypical Middle/High schooler and spend an hour with Dr Lori Volpe to understand what NeuroDiversity means. How to value difference and be more inclusive of your NeuroAtypical peers.
The event is free but registration is required, please RSVP at: https://tinyurl.com/LACDValuingDifferences
