St. Patrick’s Day Event

Well we certainly had the luck of the Irish for our St. Patrick’s Day Event! The event was so much fun and we are so excited for everyone who was able to celebrate with us. The space was festively decorated for the occasion!

Our guests walked into a room fit for a leprechaun. Green napkins adorned with shamrocks, a colorful rainbow balloon arch (complete with a pot of gold), a leprechaun himself stopped by and centerpieces were green hats filled with beautiful greenery. Our guests enjoyed taking pictures under the rainbow and drinking the adorable water bottles that were also dressed for the holiday!

Our sponsors of the event, Care One, graciously brought our guests Irish Soda Bread to snack on and Brandywine Assisted Living brought the festive entertainment that everyone really enjoyed. One of Livingston’s finest, Betty Weber, graciously opened with two Irish Blessings. It was the perfect kick-off to get things started!

Dan Yates was our entertainment and he did not disappoint. His voice is beautiful and he got our crowd singing and swaying to the music. Everyone had a smile on their face. At one point, the entire crowd was singing acapella to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Mr. Yates mentioned he had forgotten he was playing for the Livingston Senior Chorus (we all appreciated the compliment). One lucky lady even got serenaded!

These events are so special to us at Livingston SYLS. They give everyone the chance to come together and have some fun. We know it can be hard for our seniors to have the opportunity to visit friends, be social and attend events. That’s why we are always trying to give our senior residents these opportunities! And from the turnout at the St. Patrick’s Day event, we’d say you all love these events as well!
