Christmas trees are collected Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About the Program
In January of each year, Livingston’s Department of Public Works conducts a program to collect and recycle Christmas trees. Simply leave your undecorated cut tree at the curb, just as you do for your recycling.
Public Works will remove and recycle the trees. Watch for news of program dates and directions. Employees of the Department of Public Works put the trees through a chipper, and the resulting wood chips can then be made available to residents for pick-up at no cost. The wood chips created from the trees can be used in flower beds and garden borders.
The Christmas tree collection program saves the cost of garbage disposal, since the Township is charged by weight to remove bulk items.
