Community Leaders Club (Grades 9 to 12)

Community Leaders Club (Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12) meet from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Ave. This is a student-led organization. 

This is a community leadership program that provides high school students with opportunities to work with and mentor younger students including those with special needs. Students are provided with training on presentation skills, facilitating groups, and coordinating community-based programs. Other topics include, Kindness and Empathy, Caring and Sharing, Dangers of Social Media, and a Drug/Alcohol unit with local law enforcement officials. 

Students in this program are expected to be positive role models in the community and are committed to an ATOD-free lifestyle (Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs). This program provides excellent experience in community programming which can enhance any college application. Students meet at Livingston Senior/Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as well as additional days/times, as needed. 

Goals

The goals of Community Leaders are:

  • To promote and maintain an ATOD-free lifestyle.
  • To give students an opportunity to make a positive contribution to their school and their community by engaging in service to others.
  • To provide personal growth experiences and opportunities for social bonding.
