Town Comes Out to Celebrate Livingston’s 2nd Annual National Night Out

Hundreds Show Support for Local Law Enforcement at National Night Out

Special appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog

Please bring one new toiletry item to donate to Livingston's Human Services Department

The Livingston Public Library will close at 4:30 pm; restrooms will be open to the public during the evening

The purpose of National Night Out is to bolster support for local anti-crime efforts and strengthen police-community partnerships. To volunteer or learn more, call Gary Mankowitz at 973 535-2947 or email at gmankowitz@livingstonnj.org.

- Free refreshments; inflatable rides; face painting; balloons and carnival games; DJ entertainment;

- Performances by three local bands: Local Heroes, Someone Say Something, and 2 Man Trio

- Safety/security demonstrations by the Livingston Police Department, Livingston Fire Department, and Livingston First Aid Squad, the FBI, the Montclair State University K-9 unit, and the West Caldwell Fire Department's fire safety house.

- A helicopter from the Atlantic Health Care Air One will land on the Oval

- Water slide ride for children; activities at the West Essex YMCA, blood pressure monitoring by the Livingston Nursing Division; displays from the American Red Cross, LYCS, Livingston SYL Services; New York Sports Club; Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts; McManus Locksmiths and Supreme Security; auto styler Sonny Croughn and his custom trike, DARE 2B BAD

- Passport to prizes; raffles

- Children's poster contest based on the theme: "Give neighborhood crime and drugs a going away party"

- The movie "Up" will be shown at dusk
