National
Night Out is a nationwide event held annually on the first Tuesday
in August. It is designed to strengthen our neighborhoods through
police-community partnerships. The goal is to heighten crime and
drug prevention awareness, build support and participation in local
anti-crime programs and, most importantly, represents the kind of
spirit, energy and determination that is helping to make many neighborhoods
safer places to live. It’s also the perfect opportunity to
get to know your neighbors even better.
Livingston
held its first National Night Out in August 2009. It was a resounding
success and was attended by an estimated 3,500 residents. Our
second annual National Night Out was August 3, 2010, the third
was August 2, 2011 and the fourth is August 7, 2012.
Our National
Nights Out take place at the Memorial Oval located across from police
headquarters.
