Cholesterol: Lunch and Learn2018-04-19T12:00:00The Livingston Health Department in conjunction with St. Barnabas Medical Center is having a Lunch and Learn on cholesterol which will be Thursday, April 19th from 12-1pm at Livingston Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Ave in the training room. If you have abnormal cholesterol levels, your risk for heart disease and stroke increases. The good news is by making some lifestyle changes and working with your health care provider you can improve your cholesterol levels. Zhanna Berman, MSN, RN, APN-BC, Transitions Nurse Practitioner at St. Barnabas Medical Center will discuss cholesterol levels and how to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. A light lunch will be provided. Please pre-register for this lunch and learn by contacting Jessica, Health Educator for Livingston Health Department at 973-535-7961 ext. 227 or by email at Jekelly@livingstonnj.org.

Operation Take Back2018-04-28T10:00:00On April 30, 2018, the Livingston Police Department is encouraging residents to clean out their medicine cabinets for Operation Take Back NJ. This is an effort between local police departments, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s HIDTA Task Force, Partnership for a Drug-Free NJ, and ADAPT of Essex County. Livingston officers will be at police headquarters from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for collection, although residents can come any time for drop-off. Please note that the police department cannot accept any syringes, needles or lancets. If you need to dispose of sharps, please visit safeneedledisposal.org for information on the disposal of these items.
