When & How New Jersey is Lifting Restrictions
As the country, the state, and our local municipalities emerge from COVID-19, we look to the CDC and our Governor for guidance.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy previously announced “The Road Back: Restoring Economic Health through Public Health” to start the State’s recovery. Six principles & key metrics (PDF) were issued to guide the process for lifting restrictions and restoring NJ’s economic health.
New Jersey entered Stage 2 on Monday, June 15, 2020.

Precautions Across All Stages
As our State moves forward through the stages of reopening, it’s important to remember to take these precautions, which apply across all stages:
- Work that can be done from home should continue to be done from home.
- Clinically high-risk individuals who can stay at home should continue to do so.
- All residents and businesses should follow state and federal safeguarding guidelines: wash hands; wear masks in public; respect social distancing; minimize gatherings; disinfect workplace and businesses; and no mass gatherings
