PSE&G Will Notify Residents of Vegetation Management Work

Electric transmission lines on metal towers, with trees cleared to a distance. From

Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) owns electric transmission right-of-way areas located adjacent to properties in Livingston. The electric transmission lines are essential for PSE&G to meet its commitment to provide safe, proper and adequate electric service to consumers throughout New Jersey. Maintaining proper tree clearance from the power lines is necessary to assure:

  • The continued safety of homeowners living near the transmission lines,
  • The safety of PSE&G employees and contractors working on the power lines, and
  • The reliability ofthe electric utility system.

The number and size of overgrown trees and other vegetation on the right-of-way adjacent to a property may requires maintenance of the right-of-way.

In this case, PSE&G will send a notification letter directly to the neighboring property owners explaining the work to be done by Asplundh Tree Expert LLC., a private contractor working for PSE&G. The letter will also contain the expected start date and length of the planned work and the contact for any questions or concerns.
