Foot and ankle injuries are very common for active people and all types of athletes. Learn about common foot and ankle injuries and available treatments at this lecture presented by Summit Medical Group and the Livingston Public Library.

Foot and ankle injuries are very common for active people and all types of athletes. As sports specialization increases, and extended practice hours and participation on multiple teams become commonplace at a younger age, the risk of injury or developing an ongoing condition becomes greater.

As the fall sports season gets into full swing, learn about common foot and ankle injuries and the treatments available for these conditions at this free community lecture.

Andre D. Ross, DPM specializes in podiatry with a focus on reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. Ross has extensive experience with foot and ankle trauma, deformity correction including flatfoot/cavus (high arch) reconstruction and arthritis of the foot and ankle. He holds multiple certifications in total ankle replacement surgery. He treats a variety of sports-related injuries including Achilles tendon ruptures, ankle ligament injuries, and osteochondral lesions utilizing minimally invasive techniques such as arthroscopy and tendoscopy. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is certified by the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Ross will be covering the following topics in his lecture:

  • Ankle Instability, Ankle Sprains, Ankle Fractures
  • Shin Splints vs. Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome
  • Anterior and Posterior Impingement syndromes of the ankle
