Recycling & Reclamation Committee

The Livingston, New Jersey, Recycling and Reclamation Committee was originally formed February 2009. Since then, we’ve all come a long way in terms of recycling. The Committee continues to research, practice and teach ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Recycling in Livingston

Livingston recycles the following materials:

  • Batteries
  • Commingled
  • Grasscycling
  • Lightbulbs
  • Metal
  • Paper
  • Special/Non-Traditional Items

TVs, Computers, & Monitors on the Curb

Please note, New Jersey residents can no longer put TVs, computers and monitors out on the curb for regular trash collection pickup. Instead, these items must be taken to a drop-off point, such as a county or municipal solid waste collection center or a participating electronics retail store.

Best Buy stores statewide and community-based service programs, most notably Goodwill Industries and the Salvation Army, also accept these materials. To help residents with this, Livingston periodically offers these electronics and paper shredding events.
