Summer Job Open House
Our first Summer Job Open House for prospective Summer 2020 camp and pool employees will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Livingston Senior/Community Center (204 Hillside Avenue). View event on Calendar
Livingston Senior, Youth, & Leisure Services program supervisors will be conducting on-site interviews for the following positions:
- Pool Lifeguards
- Camp Counselors
- Counselors in Training (volunteer positions for rising 9th graders)
- Pool Lifeguards
- Lead Counselors
- Snack Bar Attendants
- Camp Maintenance Workers
Pool employees (lifeguards and snack bar attendants) must be at least 15 years old by May 1, 2020, and paid camp employees must be at least 16 years old by May 1, 2020.
All minors under the age of 18 who work in New Jersey must have an employment certificate – also called “working papers.” The required form will be available at the Open House. More information: Employment Certificates (State of New Jersey)
What to Bring
All applicants should bring a completed Employment Application (PDF) and a copy of their school ID and/or photo ID and should be prepared to interview at the Open House.
Lifeguard candidates should also bring a copy of their Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED Certifications.
All camp staff will be required to work the full SIX weeks! Vacation days will not be granted. Excused absences may be granted such as: college orientation and/or doctor’s appointment. Proper paperwork is required for these requests with approval from Camp Director.
Snack Bar: Some weekend availability required.
Lifeguards must be available to work every weekend during the pool season. Adherence to the attendance policy in the lifeguard handbook is required, including giving required notice for absences.
Individuals seeking employment as lifeguards at Livingston Community Pools must be certified prior to applying for a summer job.
